The new common core has us raising the stakes with comparing and contrasting! Instead of just comparing two things, we have been practicing comparing different passages! I've been on the search for good passages to compare. Not having found much, I set to work on making some of my own so that there would be several similarities and differences in each!
We introduced the unit with paper plate Venn diagrams!
We used the passages I created in our reading centers!
The kids did an awesome job comparing and contrasting with the different passages!
I made 5 different passages so my groups of five could each have a different passage!
