Fraction Fun!

There is so much to do with fractions that I couldn't help but make it a week unit! I introduced fractions with a fun craft found on Pinterest!

I don't know who had more fun making these fraction pizzas...me or the kids!

I precut everything so we could focus on the concept of fractions! 1/4 pepperoni etc.!

The next day I wanted to show them how to use fractions as part of a group.

This was found on Pinterest too. I would have cut out the gumballs but I am completely out of construction paper.

The kids got to do a little coloring which is rare, so it was fun!

Our hallway display!

We played a bunch of games I made or found on tpt!

Fraction dominos
Fraction puzzle

Fraction match

We made our own fraction flash cards to practice!

Using dice to roll fractions!
Domino fractions (this was a teachable
Moment- about typically the big number is on the bottom of a fraction)

Parts of a group! I made this one and it's on tpt!

This was a lot easier for them than I thought.

Next up, capacity!

Geometry

What does the shape say?

We had so much fun with shapes this week! I almost ended my unit until I saw Linda Kamp's 'what did the shape say?' packet on tpt!

It was a great way to review and we had so much more fun!

We started with plane shapes!
