Measuring!

Hello blogging world! I have wanted to set this blog up for a while now!  I have so many ideas that are bubbling out of me that I want to share! I teach second grade and I am all about differentiated learning and making learning fun!

We have started measurement this week and I want to post a few pictures of some of the math centers we used!

This is called, 'I measure the trees'. The students have to measure different size trees to the half inch! I got the title from the Lorax! The measurement recording sheet is great because they must remember to put a label behind their measurement! 

For this center, they had to measure in centimeters! It's called, 'A bouquet of centimeters'. The students measure to the nearest centimeter and can't forget their labels!

We also measured items with nonstandard units of measurement! The kids had a lot of fun measuring and comparing how many of each item they used!

These were the first three lessons in the measurement unit! I have a few more centers that I just made that I'm excited to use for feet, meters, centimeters, etc.!
